Job summit yields internship system Posted: 04 Oct 2010 04:28 PM PDT AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) -- The Maine Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Web-based program that matches students in the state's colleges and universities with Maine employers for internship experiences. InternHelpME.com was announced Monday by Gov. John Baldacci and representatives from Maine businesses and higher education institutions. Baldacci says InternHelpME.com will help students gain valuable experience while they are in school while helping businesses recruit talented workers. He says it will build on the current career development programs that Maine colleges and universities offer. The idea came up during the Governor's Job Summit in February. The system will also encourage more students to remain in Maine after they graduate. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press.
