Waynesburg coach dies after illness at other job Posted: 07 Jul 2010 01:42 PM PDT WAYNESBURG, Pa.—A graduate assistant football coach at Waynesburg University has died after falling ill at a construction site where he also worked. Twenty-five-year-old Mike Czerwien (ZER'-wyn) became ill Tuesday afternoon while working in temperatures that topped 90 degrees. He died a short time later at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. School officials say they've received no official notification that his death was heat-related. The West Virginia Medical Examiner's office says the cause of death is not public information under that state's laws. Czerwien was a defensive lineman before graduating in 2008 from the Division III school in southwestern Pennsylvania. He was working on a master's degree in business administration while also serving as an assistant defensive line coach with the team.
